Homestart – Newark
About Us
For 40 years Home-Start Newark has worked across Newark and the surrounding areas, providing essential universal services for families with children under 5. We now also offer support in Ollerton, Boughton and Bilsthorpe.
We recognise and respect the deep challenges presented by parenthood. It’s the most important job in the world, but it’s not easy, and all parents struggle at one time or another.
We work alongside families when times are tough, to help them to find their own way forward. We can offer support around: loneliness and isolation, mental and physical wellbeing, parenting, school readiness, financial challenges, domestic abuse, bereavement, young parents, housing issues, relationship challenges, multiple birth and more.
Our services help parents to cope, boost confidence and skills and encourage empowerment and resilience
The Home-Start approach
Home-Start schemes are rooted in the community they serve. We are managed locally and operate as independent charities, responsible for our own fundraising and strategy, but are supported by a national organisation, Home-Start UK, which offers direction, training, information and guidance to schemes and ensures consistent and quality support for parents and children.
Home-Start has a proven, lasting, positive impact on the development of children and the health and welfare of the family.
