MACS (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support)
MACS is the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting individuals born with
- Microphthalmia (small, underdeveloped eyes)
- Anophthalmia (no eyes) and
- Coloboma (cleft in the eye structure)
Our vision is for people with MACS conditions and their families to thrive and lead fulfilling lives. We empower 70 Nottinghamshire members by fostering a connected community. We organise regional and local social events that connect families to create peer support networks which alleviate the isolation caused by these rare conditions. With a cost of £128 per year, per member, we ensure accessible services, promoting well-being, strengthening community bonds and sharing experiences.
