Nettleham Woodland Trust

Nettleham Woodland Trust (NWT) is a local charity founded in 2006.

Since 2009 NWT has organised the community planting of 25,000 trees and created meadows, ponds and a lake at Ashing Lane Nature Reserve, Dunholme.  Our 19 hectares, leased to the 2130’s, adjoin land managed by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.

We have developed a Nature Trail and an All Abilities Area suitable for wheelchairs. In 2022 we built The Tower for owls, smaller birds and invertebrates, all enabled by grants, donations and nearly 1000 volunteer hours. In 2023 a simple orienteering map will add a new dimension.

NWT has annual running costs of c£2000. We rely on grants and donations to pay for public liability and equipment insurance, servicing and fuel for a ride-on mower, replacement of tools, maintenance of memorial benches and information boards, and the occasional portaloo hire.
