Richard Whitehead Foundation
In 2021, Paralympic Gold Medallist, Richard Whitehead MBE set up the Richard Whitehead Foundation to help disabled people be happier and healthier. He wanted to use his passion and experience to inspire others to get active and achieve their ambitions through sport and physical activity.
At the Foundation, we believe in the impact of sport: the increased mental well-being; the confidence; the self-esteem; the social inclusion and employability which come from it. We want the disability community to be able to thrive and benefit from all these opportunities.
Every day at the Richard Whitehead Foundation, we hear the barriers disabled people face accessing sport, but also see the impact that the power of sport can have on their lives when barriers are broken down.
We are first and foremost an organisation for the disability community. Sport is the tool we use to improve lives. It is about the individuals and their stories, overcoming their challenges with them and helping them to achieve their goals through sport.
